Lyle began writing music for television, radio and documentary scores, eventually making the jump to feature film with MADE, written and directed by Jon Favreau, a collaboration that led to work on Favreau’s TV series DINNER FOR FIVE. Lyle wrote additional music for the Will Ferrell film KICKING AND SCREAMING which began a fruitful relationship with producer Judd Apatow, who chose Lyle to compose music for his directorial debut, THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN. This led to several Apatow productions including SUPERBAD, FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, with additional music for KNOCKED UP and DRILLBIT TAYLOR.

In 2008, Lyle composed music along with E of EELS for the Jim Carrey film YES MAN. In 2009, THE GOODS followed and in 2010, GET HIM TO THE GREEK. in 2011 Win Win. Coming for 2012 is FUN SIZE.
